Killin

On or near Long Distance Walking Trail: St Columba's Way, Rob Roy Way

Cill Fhinn meaning the ‘White Church’ is a truly fine village situated within the boundary of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The village and the area which is known as Breadalbane, is a popular destination due to the mountains and glens around Loch Tay and also because two (see above) walking trails running through the village and along the Loch. Because of these trails backpackers are part of the local scenery. Walking down the main street with all the shops it feels absolutely wonderful. Killin definitely has a laid back feel, particularly around the scenic Falls of Dochart, which tumble and splash through the centre. There are wonderful views of the Tarmachan Ridge and Ben Lawers, a panorama of mountains which form the western edge of the ridge that surrounds the north side of Loch Tay.
