Description:

Galloway Forest Park, often called ‘the Highlands of the Lowlands,’ is truly stunning. Much of the Galloway Hills lies within its boundaries, offering challenging hillwalking, rock climbing, and ice climbing. Covering 300 square miles, it’s Britain’s largest forest park, full of wild beauty to explore. You’ll find peaceful valleys surrounded by heather-covered hills, rugged rock faces, cascading burns, and a landscape that rises from forests, moorlands, and lochs to majestic mountains. The Merrick, Mulwharcher, and the Rhinns of Kells tower above ancient, unspoiled woodland. With forest walks, scenic lochs, wildlife, visitor centres, forest drives, plus the popular Red Deer Range and Wild Goat Park, there’s something for everyone in some of Scotland’s most breathtaking scenery.
