Boyne Castle ***

Description:
An almost forgotten and crumbling ruin from the 16th century set between Portsoy and Whitehills. Originally built by the Ogilvie family around 1580 it comprised four stories and four corner towers. The family fortified their estate after supporting Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745 and today it is mainly in ruins. In spite of that it's a very interesting experience to visit these lesser known ruins.
