Description:

The Kintyre Way is a multi‑stage, moderately challenging long‑distance walk that rewards confident navigators and those comfortable with varied terrain. Expect occasional steep sections and stretches where solid map‑reading skills are essential, even though the route is fully waymarked.

Running for 161 kilometres, the trail links Tarbert at the northern gateway to Kintyre—where the peninsula meets Knapdale—southwards through Campbeltown to Machrihanish on the wild Atlantic edge of the peninsula’s west coast.

Designed primarily for walkers, the trail also offers good opportunities for cyclists, with most stages suitable for mountain or gravel bikes.

  2. Claonaig - Clachan 16 km (Slightly harder)
