On the approach to Loch Hope
A 5-stage unmarked walk from Lochinver with an overall difficulty grading of 3 (Moderate) to Tongue. The trail was developed by trail blazer 'par excellence" Cameron McNeish and is mostly on paths and tracks with some off-trail walking and a few miles on minor tarmac roads. It potentially takes in hills like Suilven, Canisp, Ben More Assynt, Arkle and Foinaven, Ben Hope and Ben Loyal but you really don't have to "do" the summits....if you don't want to.
This is a fine long distance route, but beware: The trail is completely unmarked and runs through wild and rugged terrain for much of the distance.
A tent is a must. There are long sections without a bothy, hostel or B&B.
