An accessible 65 km route following well‑defined paths with no technical difficulties.
The River Ayr Way leads you through wild moorland landscapes shaped by both natural forces and centuries of industry. Winding along one of Southern Scotland’s most fascinating river valleys, it can comfortably be completed over a long weekend. The trail is steeped in history, with connections to iconic figures such as Robert Burns and William Wallace woven into the landscape.
The final miles cross open farmland and estate grounds before arriving in the historic county town of Ayr, where the route links seamlessly with the Ayrshire Coastal Path.
