Description:

A sharp encounter between the Clan Gordon and the Clan Forbes took place at Tillyangus, on the slope of the Coreen hills near White Hill of Tillyangus (October 10, 1571), with the result that the Forbeses were put to flight. It was part of the Marian civil war in which the Gordons supported Mary, Queen of Scots and the Forbeses supported her son, James VI of Scotland.
