Description:

On the east slope of the Hill of Fare the Earl of Huntly suffered defeat at the hands of the Earl of Moray. Huntly, after being captured, seems to have died of apoplexy. There is a monument just north of the B977  (Plus code: 4H34+4QJ Banchory to be exact). The battle itself took place about 3 km to the north west of this spot further up in the hills.
