Description:
Tynron Doon lies about 1.5 miles from the hamlet of Tynron. The main way up is a steep climb through a juniper wood to the west, followed by a sheep track leading to the fort. There’s a shorter path, but the approach isn’t as scenic. The fort features two ramparts and three ditches on all sides, except to the south where a steep, tree-covered cliff provides natural defense, and to the east, which has just one rampart and relies on the hill’s steep slope for protection.
