Fort William, Ben Nevis & Lochaber

Glen Etive

This particular region is home to some of Scotland's most archetypical assets. Think of Glencoe, the West Highland Way, mighty Ben Nevis or the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct.

So many highlights to see. So many roads, paths, tracks and trails to follow..... (Glen Etive might be an Idea!).

If you think Highland, this very region could very well be what you're looking for!

With sparkling Argyll & The Isles to the south and the many wonders of Isle of Skye & Kyle of Lochalsh to the north, there is a fascinating world to discover following Scotlands western shores.

Site rating:

Although the featured attractions, sites and landmarks are always chosen by me, I have made a serious effort to differentiate 4 levels:

  • (***) This is, for whatever reason, a very personal favourite! Will definitely be on my itinerary! Could possibly be disappointing for someone else though.
  • (**)   A major must-see tourist attraction that you can find in many a brochure.
  • (*)     Worth seeing and possibly interesting if you happen to be in the vicinity.
  • (-)     A hefty dollop of imagination is a must, but it might be interesting if you know the background.
