Description:

One of those 'fields of battle' that tickles my imagination. It may very well be a major disappointment for you as there is absolutely nothing there, although.....there is a small standing stone on the B8017: It commemorates the battle of Traigh Ghrimeart (Gaelic: Blàr Tràigh Ghruineart or sometimes called the Battle of Gruinart Strand) in 1598 between Clan Donald and Clan MacLean. Lachlan MacLean and about 300 of his men were killed.
