Battle site of Culblean (1335) ***

Description:
In 1335 near Culblean Hill (Cairngorms) loyal forces of Sir Andrew de Moray surprised David of Strathbogie, who besieged Kildrummy Castle on behalf of Edward III and Edward Balliol. A monument can be found along the B9119. The stone monolith is (should be) clearly visible from the road.
