Description:

This 4-stage walk follows the coast from Cocksburnpath to Berwick-upon-Tweed and is one of Scotland’s Great Trails. Walk along some of the highest sea cliffs in Britain and see the beautiful sandy beaches, dramatic clifftop scenery with arches, stacks and the crumbling remains of Fast Castle. The BCP rounds St Abb's Head, a National Nature Reserve renowned for its birdlife, to reach attractive St Abbs and not long after that the small town of Eyemouth. The final stage leads on along the cliffs to cross into England to finally finish at Berwick-upon-Tweed.

This border region was the site of much contention between England and Scotland in the Middle Ages, and the largest town in the area, Berwick-upon-Tweed, changed hands more than a dozen times before England captured it for good in 1482.
